Writing SEO-optimized articles can be a challenge, especially if you are starting. You are competing with a robust algorithm. Some experts say you shouldnโt worry about SEO and write for people. Yes, that is true, but when you are not getting any traffic, you should optimize your articles in full. That is why most content creators turn to SEO tools to boost their SEO capabilities. GrowthBar SEO is one of those tools. This GrowthBar review will show everything you need to know about this powerful tool.
Growthbar is a powerful tool for optimizing websites and posts for search engine optimization (SEO). It can help your business improve rankings on search engine result pages (SERPs). Letโs check out its features and pricing.
What is GrowthBar SEO?
Growthbar is a comprehensive SEO and digital marketing suite that helps businesses improve their visibility and rankings on search engines. Awesome! It sounds like a magical tool that can fix all our SEO problems.
With Growthbar, you can perform keyword research, write new articles, optimize existing articles, generate meta descriptions, generate blog post ideas, inspect sites, perform competition analysis, and create email newsletters. A lot of useful features that, if used correctly, can benefit your site.
Content generation is based on AI-powered assistant, which has pros and cons. I will show you later how itโs used and what results you get.
Growthbar is an easy-to-use and affordable SEO tool. With a few clicks, you can generate good content that is well-optimized for SEO. However, just like with any AI tool and content automation tools, you should not wholly rely on it.
Benefits of GrowthBar
Growthbar has many benefits and can be a good tool to use when in a rush to create a lot of content. Besides, many companies use AI writing tools like Writesonic and Jasper to speed up their content creation. Growthbar adds up to that, and its primary focus is on SEO optimization. Here are the benefits of using Growthbar:
- Ease of use: Growtbar has a simple interface and with a few clicks you can either generate content or perform research. It’s very intuitive and much simpler than SurferSEO.
- Drag-and-drop: What I like most about Growthbar is the drag-and-drop feature that helps me generate blog posts in seconds. The tool will create an article for you, but it will also offer the best headings and paragraphs from your competitions, and you can easily drag those elements to your articles.
- Competition insight: Growthbar immediately gives you ideas about what you should include to beat the competition. Your content is compared with other articles that are already ranking, and you will get a score that tells if your article needs improvements or not.
- Affordable: Compared to other SEO tools, Growthbar has great pricing and it’s affordable. Itโs a great option for businesses that are looking to optimize their websites for SEO without breaking the bank.
Features & Tools
Some of the features were already mentioned in the benefits section of this blog posts. Growthbar offers a range of tools and features that you can use to optimize your website for SEO and SERP. Let’s explore features in more detail:
Content Generator
The most popular feature is the content generator. You can generate a completely new article where you only need to enter your focus keyword. Or you can optimize your existing article by providing an URL.
I’ve typed my focus keyword: ”best VPN services,” and Growthbar generated an article with a trending headline. It’s effortless to edit your articles, and you will find similar editing options to those offered in Word.
Next to my article, I got robust data-driven insights that I should pay attention to. I see that keyword difficulty is currently 64/100 and that this is a very difficult keyword to rank for.
Usually, long-tail keywords and keywords with less traffic are easier to rank for. In this case, ”best VPN service” is generic; thus, it would need a lot of backlinks to rank on the first page on Google.
Other insights that are included in the report are monthly searches for this particular keyword, and Value of Position One. This is a proprietary metric and it combines monthly searches, estimated CPC, and an estimated click-through rate to give you a sense of how valuable it would be to rank in position one in the Google SERP for that keyword.
Under optimal content stats, Growthbar will tell you how many words your article should have (for ”best VPN services” I should have between 8 500 words and 11 000 words); it tells you how many headings, images, and external links each article should have.
At the bottom, there is a list of top performing articles and websites that covered that topic in depth and that target the focus keyword:
On the right, under the Drag-and-drop feature, you will find headlines that you can drag to your article. All of these headings are from top-performing articles; if you include those, you are most likely to rank faster in Google. At the bottom of this feature, you will find images that you can include in your articles.
Paragraph Generator, Paragraph Rewrite
Two useful features that you will find in the left menu are paragraph generator and paragraph rewrite. Basically, you just need to type in a phrase or a sentence and GrowthBar will generate short paragraph.
I typed in: ”how to use AI in business” and I got the following paragraph:
Is this the most useful and best feature? Probably not. It’s ok when you rush to write something quickly, but there is no insight into whether this paragraph is optimized for SEO or not.
Also, this paragraph can easily be plagiarized, and thus it needs work. Whenever you generate something using AI tools, it’s better to work on your content further because you want it to be unique.
Paragraph rewrite feature works similarly. You just need to paste the paragraph into the box and Growthbar will generate a new paragraph.
Meta Description Generator
Any blog post your create for your website has to have a meta description. It helps your ranking and traffic. You can easily generate meta description based on your article title or keyword using Growthbar.
Just type in your prompt and click submit. I want to create a meta description for this blog post. I’ve typed in ”growthbar seo review”.
Growthbar generated a meta description for me, but the problem is that it’s too long. I use Yoast SEO for my WordPress site and Yoast says that meta description is too long.
You can always generate more outputs by clicking on ‘create more’ until you get the result you want. However, in my case, every meta description was long and I had to fix it.
This is a useful tool, but it needs work. Meta description should have less than 140 characters. Growthbar gave descriptions that are over 200 characters in length. Good thing is that you can read this Growthbar Review so you can decide if this tool is worth the price.
Blog Post Ideas Generator
A handy feature that Growthbar offers is the blog post ideas generator. It will give you a list of ideas for your next blog post, and you can immediately copy the title and start creating content around that.
What you can do with this feature is you can generate blog post ideas and create topical clusters or authority. If you write enough articles covering the same topic, you are more likely to rank in search results. According to Ahrefs: “Building topical authority is about helping search engines understand a website’s topic so that it has better potential to rank for topically related keywords.” I always use this feature to generate multiple ideas covering a specific keyword and topic.
In the example below, Growthbar generate multiple ideas for ”best VPN services”.
Site Inspector – Competitor Analysis
With Growthbar, you can scan your competition and see the value of their organic traffic, number of backlinks, and top-performing keywords for organic traffic. Instead of using expensive tools such as Ahrefs or Semrush, you can do competitive analysis using Growhtbar. Another helpful insight that Growthbar offers are the volume and CPC for each keyword in Google Ads. If you plan to run CPC campaigns in Google Ads, you can check out how much you will spend for each keyword.
I clicked on Nike to check out their organic traffic. I can now download CSV file and research keywords that are worth pursuing.
Keyword Research
The most used feature in Growthbar is Keyword Research. You can perform keyword analysis and find the best keyword to target, and Growthbar will give you enough information to decide whether to pursue a specific keyword.
You will get the following: monthly search, keyword difficulty, estimated CPC, and value of position 1. Also, you will get related queries to your main keyword, and you can download the entire report in a CSV file. For a beginner, that is enough info. You want to focus on keywords with low keyword difficulty but high search volume.
In addition to that, you will get list of articles/website ranking for that keyword. You can then check out each article to see the length and headings.
Even though GrowthBar cannot compare to keyword research tools such as Ahrefs or Semrush, it will do a pretty good job of finding focus keywords.
Keyword Roadmap
The keyword roadmap closely follows Keyword research. The Keyword Roadmap analyzes thousands of your keywords (from your website) and your competitorโs keywords and assigns each an Opportunity Score. I have in my report 401 content opportunities (someone call help)
Opportunity Scores are determined using monthly search volume, estimated difficulty score, CPC, and existing ranking positions. High Opportunity Score keywords are ones that should yield the highest revenue with the least amount of effort.
You can easily find out which keywords you should include in your articles. To fully use this feature, you can just focus on your close competitors. That way, you can find content gaps. This is very useful tool that is worth the price because Ahrefs charges you additionally for this.
Other AI tools
Growthbar has added additional tools that you can use to boost your traffic and conversion. With the help of AI, you can generate sales emails, newsletters, press releases, and product description. What you have to do is type in the title and some basic info and AI will do the rest. It’s very easy to use and you can generate emails that you can use in your automated email sequence.
Pricing – GrowthBar Review
Growthbar offers affordable pricing options that make it accessible to businesses of all sizes. The best thing is that is has a free trial (5 days).
There are three plans: Standard, Pro, and Agency. With all three plans you can use all tools and features that were mentioned in this Growthbar Review. However, higher priced plans give you more outlines and paragraphs that you can generate. Also, with Pro and Agency plans you can track more keywords and get more competitors backlinks.
Standard plan costs $48 per month; Pro plans costs $99 per month; Agency plan costs $199 per month.
Standard plan can satisfy all your needs: you will be able to generate 25 AI outlines, write 500 paragraphs, and get 300 Competitor Keywords Per Query. If you need more articles, you can easily switch to a more expensive plan. You can start your GrowthBar Free Trial here.
GrowthBar vs Surfer
When it comes to SEO tools, two of the most popular choices in the market are Surfer and GrowthBar. Both tools will help you to create optimized content that will rank higher in search results (if used correctly, of course). However, one is more advanced, while the other is more beginner friendly.
Surfer is a comprehensive SEO platform that helps users to analyze data and understand their competitorsโ strategies. Just like GrowthBar, it uses AI-driven algorithms to analyze the most important SEO metrics and surface actionable insights. Surfer offers almost everything that GrowthBar offers, but it has more insights and detailed SERP analysis. It is ideal for larger SEO teams and those with extensive knowledge of SEO principles. You can read Surfer SEO review on our blog.
GrowthBar, on the other hand, is a more lightweight tool that provides a quick overview of the website’s performance and lets you create content in seconds. It offers simple, actionable solutions to improve the website’s visibility and rankings. It is perfect for users who are just getting started with SEO and don’t have much experience.
GrowthBar has a simpler user interface, more intuitive, and the content editor is very easy to use. Surfer is more advanced, and editing content is a bit demanding. I find GrowthBar more user friendly and thus use it more often.
Both tools have Chrome extensions, and that way, you can get keywords and competitive insights directly on the Google search engine results page (SERP).
GrowthBar is the winner when it comes to pricing. Surfer starts at $59 per month, and GrowthBar is $48. With Surferโs basic plan, you will only be able to create 10 articles, which is not enough if you are serious about content creation.
If you need a lot of data and insights, then choose Surfer. But if you are looking for simplicity and affordability then pick GrowthBar.
Wrapping Up GrowthBar Review
It is difficult to create good content without good SEO tools. Growthbar can speed up your content creation and competitors analysis. You will immediately get insights into what is working and what you should focus on. GrowthBar is not as detailed and comprehensive as other SEO tools, but you will get enough data to make informed decision and most importantly create content that ranks higher in search results. AI tools are the future, so use it now.
